__Assignments to Complete__

All assignments are due the following day. Students are given time to work in the classroom and anything not finished must be taken home to be completed for homework. Students will be filling out their planners to learn responsibility on their own. Some work such as test or quizzes will not be allowed to go home until after a grade has been assessed.

May 15th - Today we took AIMS Web test, Wordly Wise Test, and Ch. 9 test in math. Tomorrow they are dressing up for Tom Sawyer activities.

May 11th - Today we took our last spelling test for the year and those were graded and sent home. They have their Worldy Wise Lesson 14 to complete for tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. In math they reviewed chapter nine and their assignment was Ch. 9 Review/Test pg. 404. We finished the day by touring the middle school and the students asking current fourth graders questions.

May 10th - Today we did our practice spelling test and crisscross. They read about the Galveston Hurricane and had some questions to answer over the passage. On computers they worked in fact fluency and science. Then in math they had review Ch. 3 Section C Review pg. 150. At the end of the day we continued rock collections.

May 9th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. Then they read "What Are Hurricanes" and answered questions over the nonfiction piece. Wordly Wise Lesson 14 is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. In math they continued to work on division with remainders and their assignment was Lesson 9-14 pg. 118. Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day.

May 8th - Today they did ABC order with their spelling words. We also went through their new Wordly Wise words for Lesson #14 and this is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. They went to the Ursa Park for PE with Mrs. Egar. In math we worked on dividing with remainders in Lesson 9-13 pg. 117, 147. At the end of the day we began to share our rock collections.

May 5th - Today they had 3x each with their last spelling list. They read from the blue book "Rumpelstiltskin" and answered questions over the story. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. During math we estimated quotients and their assignment was Lesson 9-12 pg. 116, 146. Reminder that rock collections are due Monday. Have a great weekend!

May 4th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. Skill math is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math we looked at patterns with division and their assignment was Lesson 9-11 pg. 115, 145. MIss Becky was here at the end of the day for music and they were scatting.

May 3rd - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They had a crisscross for spelling practice today and read the story "Hurricane Mary" reviewing cause and effect. In math we did some group work and then they had review over Ch. 9 Section B. pg. 144 for their assignment. At the end of the day we continued to learn about caves.

May 2nd - Today they did a word sort over their spelling words. Then they read "Gunpowder Inventions" and answered six questions over the passage. On computers they worked in Mobymax math and I recorded their scores. Then in math they did Lesson 9-8 pg. 112, 141. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

May 1st- Today they took their Wordly Wise test over lesson thirteen and those were graded and sent home. Then they did ABC order with there spelling words. In math they worked on multiplying three digits times a one digit number. Their assignment was Lesson 9-7 pg. 111, 140. Then in science we began learning about caves. On computers they worked in Istation and I gave them their scores at the end of the day.

April 28th - Today they did their 3x each and read "The Lost Lake" which is due Monday. On computers they worked in Mobymax math and In the afternoon they watched the movie "The Princess and the Frog." Have a great weekend!

April 27th- They took their spelling test today and I graded those and sent them home. Then they did a writing on their favorite food from another country. On computers they worked in Istation and in math they had review over two digit numbers times a one digit number. Stop and practice was their assignment to complete. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

April 26th - Students worked on a crisscross for spelling and we took our practice spelling test. Tomorrow is their test for a grade. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and then science with MobyMax. For math they have lesson 9-6 to complete. Then we worked on the rock cycle at the end of the day.

April 25th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. They read "Tasty Tex Mex Food" and answered questions over facts and opinions. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in the afternoon for math they have to complete Lesson 9-5 pg. 138, 371. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

April 24th - Today we did ABC order and Wordly Wise lesson 13 words. Wordly Wise is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math they had chapter nine section a review to complete. We went through more specific rocks and minerals.

April 21st - Today we did our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They did their 3x each and they read the story Piggins and took an AR test on it. Then in the afternoon they listened to a play in Miss Gunn's room and we did Lesson 9-4 pg. 136 in math. At the end of the day we watched a couple of videos over the three basic types of rocks. April 20th - Today we did our practice spelling test and Friday will be our test for a grade. They have a crisscross for practice tonight. Then they read "The Lioness and the Mouse" and they have questions to answer over the fable. On computers they worked in Istation. In the afternoon they worked on estimating with multiplication and their assignment was Lesson 9-3 pg. 107, 135. Then Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

April 19th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. They also did a writing over foods and the tastes associated with them. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we continued patterns with multiplication. Their assignment was Lesson 9-2 pg. 106, 134. Then in science we started rocks and minerals and a basic outline in groups.

April 18th- Today we did our Wordly Wise test over lesson 12 and those were graded and sent home. They had to do ABC order with their spelling words and then they read "Buds in Your Mouth" and answered questions concerning fact and opinion. These are both due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math they began double digit multiplication and their assignment was Lesson 9-1 pg. 105. At the end of the day they played their recorders and the second grade listened to them.

April 13th - Today we did our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They have their 3x each for their new spelling words. Then we finished Mobymax math testing and they recorded their scores. In the afternoon they had their Easter party and found eggs. Have a safe and enjoyable Easter break.

April 12th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They have a crisscross for spelling practice too. In math they took their test over chapter four subtraction and those were graded and handed back. In the afternoon they had pizza from the Lion's Club for saving soda tabs and they went to the park. Skill math and Wordly Wise Lesson 12 are due tomorrow.

April 11th - Today they did a word sort with their spelling words and they read a passage called "Big Blast in Siberia." Both of these are homework if not done already. On the computers they worked in Istation. Then in the afternoon they had a practice math test that is homework if not done. Tomorrow is their hundred point math test over chapter four (subtraction.) Then Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day.

April 10th - Today they did ABC order with their spelling words and we went over some new Wordly Wise words from Lesson 12 which will be due Thursday. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon we began review over chapter four and their assignment is Ch. 4 Section C review pg. 73,74. Then during social studies we began continents in Africa.

April 7th - They finished PARCC testing and have 3x each over the weekend. In the afternoon they watched a movie to celebrate they great job they did with PARCC.

April 6th -Today we did PARCC testing in the morning. In the afternoon we took our spelling test and those were graded and handed back. We continued Istation testing. Skill math is due tomorrow. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day.

April 5th - Today we continued PARCC testing in the morning. In the afternoon we took our practice spelling test and they have a crisscross to complete by tomorrow. Then we finished our Asia map.

April 4th - Today we began PARCC testing in the mornings. In the afternoon they did a word sort over their spelling words. Then they had PE and music in the afternoon.

April 3rd - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and this is due tomorrow. Then they read "The Drowning Tree" and this is homework if not already done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they worked on subtracting money and their assignment was Lesson 4-15 pg. 58,71. At the end of the day we worked on our countries of Asia. Tomorrow we will start PARCC testing.

March 31st - Today we did our spellings words 3x each and this is homework if not done. Then we read from our yellow books "What the Mailman Brought." This is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Istation. In the afternoon they listened to a saxophone quartet for about 30 minutes. Then we did a STEM project where they had to design a house that could withstand the wind, rain, and snow. Have a great weekend!

March 30th - Today we did our final reading practice for PARCC. They also took their spelling test and those were graded and sent home. On computers they worked in Mobymax with fact fluency. In math we continued with subtraction and their assignment was Lesson 4-12 pg. 55, 68. This assignment and skill math are due tomorrow. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

March 29th - Today we did some PARCC practice with "Herbie's Dream" in class. For spelling we did their practice spelling test and then they have their crisscross to complete. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they had review over subtraction and in social studies we began Asian countries.

March 28th - Today we did PARCC practice with "Toby Meets Bouncer." This is not homework. For spelling they did a word sort that is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. In math we practiced subtracting across the zero and their assignment was Lesson 4-11 pg. 54, 66. At the end of the day Miss Becky had recorders with 3rd graders. Tomorrow we will wear orange in remembrance of Zach Robinson.

March 27th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words. We also did a PARCC practice test today in preparation for next weeks test. We also took our Wordly Wise test over lesson 11 and those were graded and sent home. The in math we continued subtraction and their assignment was Lesson 4-10 pg. 53, 65 and is homework if not done. At the end of the day we finished up the countries of Europe.

March 24th- Today we did 3x each with our new spelling words and we read "Spending Time With Grandpa" from our yellow books. These are homework if not already done. Then in the afternoon we went to Baldwin School and listened to the Quincy Symphony Orchestra.

March 23rd - We took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They have their Wordly Wise and skill math due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Moby max math. They also have Lesson 4-9 pg 51, 63 to complete for math. In the afternoon we did the pies in the face if a student raised over $100. The whole school raised over $12,000. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

March 22nd - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have a crisscross to complete too. Then they had to write about a food that they are trying to persuade other people to try. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. During math they subtracted across three numbers and their assignment was Lesson 4-8 pg. 63, 167. At the end of the day we continued finding European countries. Worldy Wise and skill math are due Friday.

March 21st - Today we did a word sort with spelling words. They began fact and opinion with "Amanda's Spinach Salad" and they have questions to answer over the passage. On computers Moby max math was unavailable so we went into Istation again. In math they have Lesson 4-7 pg. 50, 62 for an assignment. Miss Becky was here for music with recorders at the end of the day. I also had them record their AIMS Web scores they took yesterday.

March 20th - Today we did ABC order with spelling and we went through some new Wordly Wise words in lesson 11 that is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. In math their assignment was Lesson 4-6 pg. 49,61. At the end of the day we began to look at European countries. They also took their AIMS Web test.

March 17th - Today we did our spelling test and those were sent home. They have their 3x each and the story "A Gift for Tia Rosa" from their yellow book. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they had their AR party at the park.

March 16th - We did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have their crisscross to complete. Skill math is also due tomorrow We also wrote a persuasive on Easter and a duck who is trying to save her eggs. In math their assignment was Review Ch. 4 Section A and is due tomorrow. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

March 14th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and they read a passage called "The Truth About Cyclops" and answered questions over the passage. They are focusing on drawing conclusions in this reading. In math their assignment was Lesson 4-3 pg. 46, 57. Miss Becky was here for music with recorders at the end of the day and on computers they worked in Istation.

March 9th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. We also did a writing over a mystery they want to solve if they were a scientist. This is homework if not already done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in the afternoon we looked at patterns and basic facts with subtraction. Their assignment was Lesson 4-2 pg. 45, 56 and skill math is due tomorrow too.

March 8th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They also did a crisscross for review and this is due tomorrow. For reading they read "The Great Dinosaur Mystery" and this was focusing on drawing conclusions and is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon we worked on solving averages. Then their assignment focused on number sentences with subtraction Lesson 4-1 pg. 45, 56. At the end of the day we discovered the countries of South America.

March 7th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. For reading they read a Scholastic News and this and their word sort could be homework if not done already. On computers they worked in Istation. Skill math and AR points are due Friday. In math we worked with temperature and their assignment was Lesson 12-5 pg. 147, 186. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here. They took spring pictures today in the morning and a group photo during music.

March 6h- Today we did ABC order with our spelling words which is homework if not done. We also typed up our poems that we created a couple of weeks ago. Then during math we worked on weight with the metric system. Their assignment was Lesson 12-4 and is homework if not done.

March 3rd- Today we wrote our spelling words 3x each and this is homework if not done. From our yellow books we read the story "Wonder Woman" and they have ten questions to answer over the story. On computers I finished up Mobymax math testing and we recorded those scores along with Istation scores for March. In math we began customary weight measurements and their assignment was Lesson 12-3. At the end of the day we learned about the countries of North America. Have a great weekend!

March 2nd - Today we took our spelling test and those are graded and were sent home. For reading they read "The Peculiar Platypus" and they have six questions to answer over the passage. We also did some review over our writing with PARCC yesterday. I handed back their character traits as their classmates thought they were viewed. We kept those in our binders. On computers we finished Istation tests and began Mobymax math test. In math we continued with capacity in the metric system and their assignment was Lesson 12-2 p. 183, 144. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music with recorders. Skill math and Wordly Wise Lesson 10 is due tomorrow.

March 1st - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have a crisscross for review over spelling. Then we did some PARCC reading practice and no homework with this. Wordly Wise and skill math are due Friday. On computers we started Istation testing. Then in math I handed back their chapter eight test and we began capacity with customary units. Their assignment was Lesson 12-1 pg. 128, 143 and this is homework if not already done. At the end of the day we began to look at countries within North America.

February 28th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. Then we looked at our own character traits and those of others. They have an assignment they have to find three character traits about themselves and then three with their classmates. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they took their Ch. 8 math test and Miss Becky was here at the end of the day. Wordly Wise and skill math are due Friday.

February 27th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and we introduced new Wordly Wise words for lesson ten. Wordly Wise is due Friday and ABC order is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math we reviewed for our test tomorrow and their assignment is Ch.8 Practice Test. This is homework if not already done. In social studies we looked at oceans and continents.

February 23rd - Today we did our spelling test and then wrote their new words 3x each. For reading we discussed drawing conclusions (and there was no drawing with this.) Their assignment was "The Missing Dinosaur Bone" and they had questions to answer as they read. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In math we continued to review for their test which will be next Tuesday. Their assignment was Ch. 8 Review pg. 132, 352. Have a great weekend and hopefully you can watch the high school girls compete for a state championship. We were able to stand outside and wave to them as they left on the buses this morning.

February 22nd - Today we did our practice spelling test and a crisscross. We also listened to some poems and wrote a poem to place in the writing contest for next month. We will revise these over the next few days. In math we did review over chapter eight and their assignment was Ch. 8 Section B review. Then at the end of the day we did AIMS Web testing for February.

February 21st - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and our test will be Thursday. For reading they read Scholastic News and had questions to answer when they finished the reading. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in the afternoon we did some review with the coordinate plane and their assignment was Lesson 8-12 pg. 104, 130. Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day. On Friday there is no school due to the high school girls going to state for basketball.

February 16th - Today we took our spelling test and they have 3x each for their new words. Then for math we discussed a coordinate plane like they play in Battleship. Their assignment was Lesson 8-12. Skill math is due Tuesday if they did not turn in one yet. Have a great weekend!

February 15th - Today we did our practice spelling test and crisscross to get ready for tomorrows spelling test. For reading comprehension they read about Saturn and Uranus and answered questions. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science in Mobymax math. Then during math we did some group work and problem solving. We also started working with volume and their assignment was Lesson 8-11 pg. 103. We ran out of time for science today with our new math lesson and finishing up yesterdays group work.

February 14th - Today we did our spelling word sort and they read "The Best in Sports" and answered comprehension questions on this. On computers they worked in Istation. For math they had a review day with Ch. 8 Section A for their assignment. At 1:30 they passed valentines and had cupcakes and fruit punch. They chose to watch some shows and short clips during the party.

February 13th - Today we did ABC order with our words. We also had a comprehension page on Jupiter. These are both homework if not done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we covered symmetry and their assignment was Lesson 8-6. At the end of the day we finished up planets during science.

February 10th - Today we did 3x each with our new spelling words and then read "Johnny Appleseed" from the yellow books. These are both homework if not already done. In math we learned about flips, turns, and slides and their assignment was Lesson 8-5 pg. 122, 331. On computers they worked in Istation and then in science we studied Saturn and did some planet quiz over three of the planets. Have a great weekend!

February 9th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home for a grade. Then we did some practice with PARCC assessment with reading. They have no homework with this. Wordly Wise lesson 9 and skill math is due tomorrow. We did not have time on computers today. In math we worked with angles and their assignment was Lesson 8-4 pg. 96, 329 and is due tomorrow if not already done. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for their recorders practice.

February 8th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have a crisscross to practice spelling and they had to read "A Ride on the Wind" and answer some questions over the passage. Wordly Wise is due Friday. I wrote down their Istation and Mobymax math scores in their binders today. In math we worked on lines, line segments, parallel lines, intersecting lines, and rays. Their assignment was Lesson 8-3 pg. 95, 120 and is homework if not done. During science we discussed Jupiter.

February 7th- Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. For reading they have mars and earth in a nonfiction passage to complete. Wordly Wise is due Friday. In math they worked with shapes and their assignment was Lesson 8-2 pg. 119. Miss Becky was here for music with recorders today. On computers they tested in Istation.

February 6th - It feels good to be back and done with the flu in our household. Today we did ABC order with our spelling words. We also began our new Wordly Wise words and lesson nine is due this Friday. In math we began geometry with solids. Their assignment was lesson 8-1. Then for science we learned about Mars. On computers they worked in MobyMax math and took their math assessment.

January 31st- Last day of January and we did a word sort with our spelling words. They also read the story "Patches" today with questions and both of these are homework if not done. In math we are continuing some of our challenging PARCC sample fraction questions. We have been reviewing some of the more challenging questions each day. Their assignment today was Lesson 10-5, 10-9 and this is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Istation and Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day to hand out recorders. They were super excited to play on their recorders today.

January 30th - Today they did an ABC order with their spelling words. For reading they read about Mercury and Venus and answered some literal questions over the text. These are both homework if not done. In math we continued to work on fractions and their assignment was pages 9-6 and 10-4. Then during science time we learned more about Venus and Earth. On computers they worked in Mobymax math.

January 27th - Today they did 3x each with their new spelling words and these are due on Monday. They have to do one of each of the words in cursive. From our yellow book we read "Field Day" and they have ten questions to answer over the story. Then in math we reviewed fractions and their assignment is pg. 9-1,9-5. At the end of the day we did STEM with the planets and distance from the sun. On computers they worked in Istation. Have a great weekend!

January 26th - Today we took our spelling test and I graded those and sent them home. Then we did some group work and some writing with summarizing. They have a writing assignment to write a sports article on a game that they have watched or a game that they have played in. I read a few examples to give them an idea of what a sports article sounds like. In math I did some practice with PARCC and then they had review over comparing fractions and this is homework if not done. Skill math and Wordly Wise is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Mobymax math.

January 25th - Today we took a practice spelling test and tomorrow we will take our test for a grade. They had a crisscross to review their words for their test tomorrow. Then we began to talk about summarizing and they "My Mom's Marathon" and they have questions to answer over the fictional story. In math we played a review game on the board and their assignment was Ch. 10 Section B pg. 163, 434. Then during science we took a close look at Mercury and the satelite Messenger that has been studying Mercury for the past eleven years. We had a lot of good discussion on this. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science with MobyMax.

January 24th - Today we did our word sort with our spelling words and this is homework if not done. Their reading assignment was a short passage called "The First Tail" and they had questions to answer over the article. This is also homework if not done already. In math we worked on adding and subtracting like denominators and their assignment was Lesson 10-9 pg. 128, 161 and is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Istation and Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

January 23rd- Today we began a new Wordly Wise lesson #8 and went through the definitions and assignment. This is due Friday. For spelling they have an ABC order to complete for homework. In math we worked on mixed numbers and their assignment was Lesson 10-8 pg. 160 and this is homework if not done. In science we began planets and we did a planet scavenger hunt around the classroom.

January 20th - Today we took our spelling test and I graded those and sent them home. Then they wrote their spelling words 3x each and one in cursive and this is homework if not done. From our yellow books we read "David Bernsteins" and they have ten questions to answer over the story in complete sentences. In math we are continuing to work on fractions. Their assignment was Lesson 10-7 pg. 159, 126 and is homework if not done. Book orders are due next Friday the 27th if ordering.

January 19th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They worked on a crisscross for spelling and then we did some compare and contrast with writing. They were drawing a picture of a cold climate home and a warm climate home and then writing about the similarities and differences. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we continued to work on fractions and their assignment was Lesson 10-6 pg. 125, 158 and skill math is due tomorrow too.

January 18th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and we talked continued working on comparing and contrasting with our reading. Their reading assignment was "Welcome Home" and this and ABC order are due tomorrow. In math we did some estimating with fractions and then their assignment was Ch. 10 Section A Review pg. 157, 422 and it is due tomorrow. At the end of the day we did AIMS Web testing for January. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science in Moby Max.

January 17th - Today we did our ABC order with our spelling words and took our Wordly Wise test over lesson seven. ABC order is homework if not done. We also did some practice together with prefixes that we finished in class. Then in math we worked on equivalent fractions and their assignment was Lesson 10-3 pg. 122, 154 and is homework if not complete. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in the afternoon Miss Becky was here and they worked on learning notes for recorders. Recorder money is needed also for music.

January 13th - Today we took our spelling test and they wrote their new spelling words 3x each. For math they have Lesson 10-4 pg. 123, 155 for homework. Have a great weekend and be safe!

January 12th - No School - Ice

January 11th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They have a crisscross and a biography on Martin Luthur King Jr for homework if they did not already finish. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science. Then during math we continued to work with fractions and their assignment was Lesson 10-2 pg. 121, 153 and is homework if not done already. At the end of the day we finished the Statue of Liberty tour during social studies. Wordly Wise Lesson 7 and skill math are due Friday.

January 10th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and they answered questions over a passage on Mount Rushmore. Both of these are homework if not already done. Wordly Wise is due Friday along with skill math. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In math we finished up an area question and then began fractions. Their assignment is Lesson 10-1 pg. 120, 152 and is homework if not done. Then Miss Becky was here for music and they had a free music day.

January 9th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and we went over new Wordly Wise words from lesson seven. ABC order is due tomorrow and Wordly Wise is due Friday. In math we finished up perimeter and area and they have an assignment to complete. Then during social studies time we continued looking at monuments and we began covering the Statue of Liberty. We will finish covering it on Wednesday. On computers they worked in Istation.

January 6th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They also have their report cards and binders with a lot of good information. I asked them all to share this with their parents. For assignments they have their new spelling words 3x each, the story "Miss Rumphius" from their yellow books, and for math Perimeter and Area #2. January 5th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be our test for a grade. Then they read a passage called "Homes Busy Homes" with a focus on comparing and contrasting. The Homes Busy Homes and their crisscross are homework if not already done. In math we continued to work on perimeter and area #1 is their assignment and homework if not done. Skill math is due tomorrow too. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music and on computers they worked in Istation.

January 4th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and we wrote a "I have a dream" speech based on what the students see as challenges in todays world. Both of these are homework if not already done. In math we worked on area of rectangles and they have an assignment over this that is homework if not already done. Then during social studies time we learned about the Washington Monument and took a virtural tour of it. On computers they worked in Moby Max Fact Fluency.

January 3rd - Today we reviewed our second quarter goals and created third quarter goals for school and for home. We also wrote our spelling words in ABC order and our test for this week will be on Friday. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then they had a chance to share what they got for Christmas after lunch. In math we worked on perimeter and their assignment was Lesson 8-8 and could be homework if not already done. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

December 20th - We took our Wordly Wise Test and I graded those and sent them home. We did some cursive practice and reindeer contractions. In the afternoon they watched and performed in the 3rd grade talent show. Tomorrow we will have stations from 8:30 to 11:00 and then our party from 11:00 to 11:30. Then lunch and recess followed by Polar Express in the gym until the 2:00 dismissal.

December 16th- Today we took our spelling test and I graded those and sent them home. We read from our yellow books "The Wreck of the Zephyr" and they have ten questions to answer over the story. Then in math they worked on area and their assignment was Victor Vacuum. Early dismissal at 2:00 for weather. Have a safe weekend!

December 15th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be there test for a grade. They have a crisscross for homework. Worldy Wise Lesson #6 is due tomorrow and so is skill math if they have not finished one for the week. They also wrote a letter to santa and this is homework if they are not done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then during math we did our test over chapter seven. I graded those and sent them home.

December 13th - Today we dd a word sort with our spelling words and they had time to work on their Wordly Wise. On computers they worked in Istation. In math we continued reviewing for our test and their assignment was cumulative review pg. 117. In the afternoon Miss Becky had the third grade practice for their music concert tonight. She wants them there at 6:00 for the 6:30 performance.

December 12th- Today we wrote our words in ABC order and then we went over new Wordly Wise words. Wordly Wise Lesson #6 packet is due Friday along their skill math. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math they had Ch. 7 Section C for their assignment. At the end of the day we continued on our Christmas ornaments.

December 9th - Today we wrote our spelling words 3x each and read "Sunken Treasure" from our yellow book. Both of these are homework if not done. In math we worked with even and odd numbers and their assignment was Lesson 7-12 pg. 90,113. On computers they worked in Istation and we built our Christmas trees today. Then we watched a short clip on the story we read about the Atocha. Have a great weekend!

December 8th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. We also did some PARCC practice and then did AIMS Web testing before lunch. The only homework they may have is their skill math for the week. Before we left for the day we waved and cheered on the 7th grade girls basketball team on their way to the state championship.

December 7th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be there test for a grade. They have a crisscross for their spelling assignment. For reading they have "The Smart Birdcage" and questions to answer over the passage. We started compare (same) and contrast (different) with this lesson. In math we did some practice with PARCC questions and then their assignment was dividing by eight and nine Lesson 7-11 pg. 112. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and then science with Mobymax math. At the end of the day we continued the next step of our Christmas tree ornament. Reminder that we have an early out tomorrow at 1:00.

December 6th- I had cataract surgery today so Mrs. Beeler filled in for me. The students should have had a word sort, a reading assignment (White Envelope), and math Lesson 7-10 pg. 111 for assignments to complete and return. I will see everyone tomorrow.

December 5th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words. We took our Wordly Wise test over lesson 5 and I graded those and sent them home. We also talked about the third grade talent show and the talents of our students. In math they had review over everything from Ch. 7 so far and their assignment was Ch. 7 Section B pg. 110 and this and ABC order are homework if not already done. At the end of the day we began our prep work for our homemade Christmas trees.

December 2nd- Today they wrote their new spelling words 3x each and we read from our yellow book "Song and Dance Man." Then we finished up our Christmas ornaments today. For STEM they tried to build the tallest Christmas tree possible with stacking cups. On computers they did Mobymax math assessment for December. Reminder that tonight is the father/daughter dance. December 1st - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. We also talked about persuasive writing and they have to write about which tree is best (artificial or real.) This is due tomorrow. Wordly Wise and Skill math are also due tomorrow if not already done. On computers they took their Istation monthly test. In the afternoon in math they have Lesson 7-8 pg. 86, 108 for their assignment and we continued on our Christmas ornaments. Miss Becky finished the day with music.

November 30 - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow is our test for a grade. They have a crisscross to finish and they read "A Tall Tree Tale" and this is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science. Then in math their assignment was Lesson 7-7 for homework. We also started working on our Christmas Ornament.

November 29th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and this is homework if not done. For reading they had a nonfiction passage called "Avalanche" with comprehension questions to answer. This is homework if not already done. Wordly Wise Lesson five packet is due Friday along with skill math. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In math they have Lesson 7-6 pg. 84 due for tomorrow. Then Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day.

November 22nd - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They also did a word sort with their spelling words and this is due tomorrow. For writing we did some group work over the story we read yesterday and then they had to write about the sequence of a redwood tree as it grows up to be a ten year old tree. This is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we talked about fact families with division and multiplication. Their assignment was Lesson 7-4 pg. 82, 104 and this is homework if not already done. Then Miss Becky was here at the end of the day.

November 21st- Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and our test will be Thursday of this week. For reading they read "The Tallest Living Things on Earth" and they have question to answer as they read and then comprehension questions at the end of the article. This is homework if not already done. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math we reviewed and began some PARC practice. Their assignment was Ch. 7 Section A pg. 103 and this is homework if not done. After math we did a peer edit over one of our writings and talked about staying on topic and answering a prompt. Huge learning topic today with our writing.

November 17th - Today we took our spelling test and I graded them and sent them home. For reading they read "Cheetah's Are Fast Cats" and they have six questions to answer over the passage. On computers they worked in Istation. In the afternoon we began working on division story problems. Their assignment is Lesson 7-2 and 7-3 and this and reading are homework if not already done. In math they reviewed chapter nine and their assignment was Ch. 9 Review/Test pg. 404. We finished the day by touring the middle school and the students asking current fourth graders questions.

May 10th - Today we did our practice spelling test and crisscross. They read about the Galveston Hurricane and had some questions to answer over the passage. On computers they worked in fact fluency and science. Then in math they had review Ch. 3 Section C Review pg. 150. At the end of the day we continued rock collections.

May 9th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. Then they read "What Are Hurricanes" and answered questions over the nonfiction piece. Wordly Wise Lesson 14 is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. In math they continued to work on division with remainders and their assignment was Lesson 9-14 pg. 118. Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day.

May 8th - Today they did ABC order with their spelling words. We also went through their new Wordly Wise words for Lesson #14 and this is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. They went to the Ursa Park for PE with Mrs. Egar. In math we worked on dividing with remainders in Lesson 9-13 pg. 117, 147. At the end of the day we began to share our rock collections.

May 5th - Today they had 3x each with their last spelling list. They read from the blue book "Rumpelstiltskin" and answered questions over the story. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. May 3rd - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They had a crisscross for spelling practice today and read the story "Hurricane Mary" reviewing cause and effect. In math we did some group work and then they had review over Ch. 9 Section B. pg. 144 for their assignment. At the end of the day we continued to learn about caves.

May 2nd - Today they did a word sort over their spelling words. Then they read "Gunpowder Inventions" and answered six questions over the passage. On computers they worked in Mobymax math and I recorded their scores. Then in math they did Lesson 9-8 pg. 112, 141. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

May 1st- Today they took their Wordly Wise test over lesson thirteen and those were graded and sent home. Then they did ABC order with there spelling words. In math they worked on multiplying three digits times a one digit number. Their assignment was Lesson 9-7 pg. 111, 140. Then in science we began learning about caves. On computers they worked in Istation and I gave them their scores at the end of the day.

April 28th - Today they did their 3x each and read "The Lost Lake" which is due Monday. On computers they worked in Mobymax math and In the afternoon they watched the movie "The Princess and the Frog." Have a great weekend!

April 27th- They took their spelling test today and I graded those and sent them home. Then they did a writing on their favorite food from another country. On computers they worked in Istation and in math they had review over two digit numbers times a one digit number. Stop and practice was their assignment to complete. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

April 26th - Students worked on a crisscross for spelling and we took our practice spelling test. Tomorrow is their test for a grade. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and then science with MobyMax. For math they have lesson 9-6 to complete. Then we worked on the rock cycle at the end of the day.

April 25th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. They read "Tasty Tex Mex Food" and answered questions over facts and opinions. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in the afternoon for math they have to complete Lesson 9-5 pg. 138, 371. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

April 24th - Today we did ABC order and Wordly Wise lesson 13 words. Wordly Wise is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math they had chapter nine section a review to complete. We went through more specific rocks and minerals.

April 21st - Today we did our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They did their 3x each and they read the story Piggins and took an AR test on it. Then in the afternoon they listened to a play in Miss Gunn's room and we did Lesson 9-4 pg. 136 in math. At the end of the day we watched a couple of videos over the three basic types of rocks. April 20th - Today we did our practice spelling test and Friday will be our test for a grade. They have a crisscross for practice tonight. Then they read "The Lioness and the Mouse" and they have questions to answer over the fable. On computers they worked in Istation. In the afternoon they worked on estimating with multiplication and their assignment was Lesson 9-3 pg. 107, 135. Then Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

April 19th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. They also did a writing over foods and the tastes associated with them. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we continued patterns with multiplication. Their assignment was Lesson 9-2 pg. 106, 134. Then in science we started rocks and minerals and a basic outline in groups.

April 18th- Today we did our Wordly Wise test over lesson 12 and those were graded and sent home. They had to do ABC order with their spelling words and then they read "Buds in Your Mouth" and answered questions concerning fact and opinion. These are both due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math they began double digit multiplication and their assignment was Lesson 9-1 pg. 105. At the end of the day they played their recorders and the second grade listened to them.

April 13th - Today we did our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They have their 3x each for their new spelling words. Then we finished Mobymax math testing and they recorded their scores. In the afternoon they had their Easter party and found eggs. Have a safe and enjoyable Easter break.

April 12th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They have a crisscross for spelling practice too. In math they took their test over chapter four subtraction and those were graded and handed back. In the afternoon they had pizza from the Lion's Club for saving soda tabs and they went to the park. Skill math and Wordly Wise Lesson 12 are due tomorrow.

April 11th - Today they did a word sort with their spelling words and they read a passage called "Big Blast in Siberia." Both of these are homework if not done already. On the computers they worked in Istation. Then in the afternoon they had a practice math test that is homework if not done. Tomorrow is their hundred point math test over chapter four (subtraction.) Then Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day.

April 10th - Today they did ABC order with their spelling words and we went over some new Wordly Wise words from Lesson 12 which will be due Thursday. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon we began review over chapter four and their assignment is Ch. 4 Section C review pg. 73,74. Then during social studies we began continents in Africa.

April 7th - They finished PARCC testing and have 3x each over the weekend. In the afternoon they watched a movie to celebrate they great job they did with PARCC.

April 6th -Today we did PARCC testing in the morning. In the afternoon we took our spelling test and those were graded and handed back. We continued Istation testing. Skill math is due tomorrow. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day.

April 4th - Today we began PARCC testing in the mornings. In the afternoon they did a word sort over their spelling words. Then they had PE and music in the afternoon.

April 3rd - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and this is due tomorrow. Then they read "The Drowning Tree" and this is homework if not already done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they worked on subtracting money and their assignment was Lesson 4-15 pg. 58,71. At the end of the day we worked on our countries of Asia. Tomorrow we will start PARCC testing.

March 31st - Today we did our spellings words 3x each and this is homework if not done. Then we read from our yellow books "What the Mailman Brought." This is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Istation. In the afternoon they listened to a saxophone quartet for about 30 minutes. Then we did a STEM project where they had to design a house that could withstand the wind, rain, and snow. Have a great weekend!

March 30th - Today we did our final reading practice for PARCC. They also took their spelling test and those were graded and sent home. On computers they worked in Mobymax with fact fluency. In math we continued with subtraction and their assignment was Lesson 4-12 pg. 55, 68. This assignment and skill math are due tomorrow. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

March 29th - Today we did some PARCC practice with "Herbie's Dream" in class. For spelling we did their practice spelling test and then they have their crisscross to complete. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they had review over subtraction and in social studies we began Asian countries.

March 28th - Today we did PARCC practice with "Toby Meets Bouncer." This is not homework. For spelling they did a word sort that is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. In math we practiced subtracting across the zero and their assignment was Lesson 4-11 pg. 54, 66. At the end of the day Miss Becky had recorders with 3rd graders. Tomorrow we will wear orange in remembrance of Zach Robinson.

March 27th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words. We also did a PARCC practice test today in preparation for next weeks test. We also took our Wordly Wise test over lesson 11 and those were graded and sent home. The in math we continued subtraction and their assignment was Lesson 4-10 pg. 53, 65 and is homework if not done. At the end of the day we finished up the countries of Europe.

March 24th- Today we did 3x each with our new spelling words and we read "Spending Time With Grandpa" from our yellow books. These are homework if not already done. Then in the afternoon we went to Baldwin School and listened to the Quincy Symphony Orchestra.

March 23rd - We took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They have their Wordly Wise and skill math due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Moby max math. They also have Lesson 4-9 pg 51, 63 to complete for math. In the afternoon we did the pies in the face if a student raised over $100. The whole school raised over $12,000. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

March 22nd - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have a crisscross to complete too. Then they had to write about a food that they are trying to persuade other people to try. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. During math they subtracted across three numbers and their assignment was Lesson 4-8 pg. 63, 167. At the end of the day we continued finding European countries. Worldy Wise and skill math are due Friday.

March 21st - Today we did a word sort with spelling words. They began fact and opinion with "Amanda's Spinach Salad" and they have questions to answer over the passage. On computers Moby max math was unavailable so we went into Istation again. In math they have Lesson 4-7 pg. 50, 62 for an assignment. Miss Becky was here for music with recorders at the end of the day. I also had them record their AIMS Web scores they took yesterday.

March 20th - Today we did ABC order with spelling and we went through some new Wordly Wise words in lesson 11 that is due Friday. On computers they worked in Istation. In math their assignment was Lesson 4-6 pg. 49,61. At the end of the day we began to look at European countries. They also took their AIMS Web test.

March 17th - Today we did our spelling test and those were sent home. They have their 3x each and the story "A Gift for Tia Rosa" from their yellow book. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they had their AR party at the park.

March 16th - We did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have their crisscross to complete. Skill math is also due tomorrow We also wrote a persuasive on Easter and a duck who is trying to save her eggs. In math their assignment was Review Ch. 4 Section A and is due tomorrow. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for music.

March 14th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and they read a passage called "The Truth About Cyclops" and answered questions over the passage. They are focusing on drawing conclusions in this reading. In math their assignment was Lesson 4-3 pg. 46, 57. Miss Becky was here for music with recorders at the end of the day and on computers they worked in Istation.

March 9th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. We also did a writing over a mystery they want to solve if they were a scientist. This is homework if not already done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in the afternoon we looked at patterns and basic facts with subtraction. Their assignment was Lesson 4-2 pg. 45, 56 and skill math is due tomorrow too.

March 8th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They also did a crisscross for review and this is due tomorrow. For reading they read "The Great Dinosaur Mystery" and this was focusing on drawing conclusions and is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon we worked on solving averages. Then their assignment focused on number sentences with subtraction Lesson 4-1 pg. 45, 56. At the end of the day we discovered the countries of South America.

March 7th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. For reading they read a Scholastic News and this and their word sort could be homework if not done already. On computers they worked in Istation. Skill math and AR points are due Friday. In math we worked with temperature and their assignment was Lesson 12-5 pg. 147, 186. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here. They took spring pictures today in the morning and a group photo during music.

March 6h- Today we did ABC order with our spelling words which is homework if not done. We also typed up our poems that we created a couple of weeks ago. Then during math we worked on weight with the metric system. Their assignment was Lesson 12-4 and is homework if not done.

March 3rd- Today we wrote our spelling words 3x each and this is homework if not done. From our yellow books we read the story "Wonder Woman" and they have ten questions to answer over the story. On computers I finished up Mobymax math testing and we recorded those scores along with Istation scores for March. In math we began customary weight measurements and their assignment was Lesson 12-3. At the end of the day we learned about the countries of North America. Have a great weekend!

March 2nd - Today we took our spelling test and those are graded and were sent home. For reading they read "The Peculiar Platypus" and they have six questions to answer over the passage. We also did some review over our writing with PARCC yesterday. I handed back their character traits as their classmates thought they were viewed. We kept those in our binders. On computers we finished Istation tests and began Mobymax math test. In math we continued with capacity in the metric system and their assignment was Lesson 12-2 p. 183, 144. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music with recorders. Skill math and Wordly Wise Lesson 10 is due tomorrow.

March 1st - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have a crisscross for review over spelling. Then we did some PARCC reading practice and no homework with this. Wordly Wise and skill math are due Friday. On computers we started Istation testing. Then in math I handed back their chapter eight test and we began capacity with customary units. Their assignment was Lesson 12-1 pg. 128, 143 and this is homework if not already done. At the end of the day we began to look at countries within North America.

February 28th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. Then we looked at our own character traits and those of others. They have an assignment they have to find three character traits about themselves and then three with their classmates. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In the afternoon they took their Ch. 8 math test and Miss Becky was here at the end of the day. Wordly Wise and skill math are due Friday.

February 27th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and we introduced new Wordly Wise words for lesson ten. Wordly Wise is due Friday and ABC order is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math we reviewed for our test tomorrow and their assignment is Ch.8 Practice Test. This is homework if not already done. In social studies we looked at oceans and continents.

February 23rd - Today we did our spelling test and then wrote their new words 3x each. For reading we discussed drawing conclusions (and there was no drawing with this.) Their assignment was "The Missing Dinosaur Bone" and they had questions to answer as they read. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In math we continued to review for their test which will be next Tuesday. Their assignment was Ch. 8 Review pg. 132, 352. Have a great weekend and hopefully you can watch the high school girls compete for a state championship. We were able to stand outside and wave to them as they left on the buses this morning.

February 22nd - Today we did our practice spelling test and a crisscross. We also listened to some poems and wrote a poem to place in the writing contest for next month. We will revise these over the next few days. In math we did review over chapter eight and their assignment was Ch. 8 Section B review. Then at the end of the day we did AIMS Web testing for February.

February 21st - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and our test will be Thursday. For reading they read Scholastic News and had questions to answer when they finished the reading. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in the afternoon we did some review with the coordinate plane and their assignment was Lesson 8-12 pg. 104, 130. Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day. On Friday there is no school due to the high school girls going to state for basketball.

February 16th - Today we took our spelling test and they have 3x each for their new words. Then for math we discussed a coordinate plane like they play in Battleship. Their assignment was Lesson 8-12. Skill math is due Tuesday if they did not turn in one yet. Have a great weekend!

February 15th - Today we did our practice spelling test and crisscross to get ready for tomorrows spelling test. For reading comprehension they read about Saturn and Uranus and answered questions. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science in Mobymax math. Then during math we did some group work and problem solving. We also started working with volume and their assignment was Lesson 8-11 pg. 103. We ran out of time for science today with our new math lesson and finishing up yesterdays group work.

February 14th - Today we did our spelling word sort and they read "The Best in Sports" and answered comprehension questions on this. On computers they worked in Istation. For math they had a review day with Ch. 8 Section A for their assignment. At 1:30 they passed valentines and had cupcakes and fruit punch. They chose to watch some shows and short clips during the party.

February 13th - Today we did ABC order with our words. We also had a comprehension page on Jupiter. These are both homework if not done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we covered symmetry and their assignment was Lesson 8-6. At the end of the day we finished up planets during science.

February 10th - Today we did 3x each with our new spelling words and then read "Johnny Appleseed" from the yellow books. These are both homework if not already done. In math we learned about flips, turns, and slides and their assignment was Lesson 8-5 pg. 122, 331. On computers they worked in Istation and then in science we studied Saturn and did some planet quiz over three of the planets. Have a great weekend!

In math we worked with angles and their assignment was Lesson 8-4 pg. 96, 329 and is due tomorrow if not already done. At the end of the day Miss Becky was here for their recorders practice.

February 8th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow is their test for a grade. They have a crisscross to practice spelling and they had to read "A Ride on the Wind" and answer some questions over the passage. Wordly Wise is due Friday. I wrote down their Istation and Mobymax math scores in their binders today. In math we worked on lines, line segments, parallel lines, intersecting lines, and rays. Their assignment was Lesson 8-3 pg. 95, 120 and is homework if not done. During science we discussed Jupiter.

February 7th- Today we did a word sort with our spelling words. For reading they have mars and earth in a nonfiction passage to complete. Wordly Wise is due Friday. In math they worked with shapes and their assignment was Lesson 8-2 pg. 119. Miss Becky was here for music with recorders today. On computers they tested in Istation.

February 6th - It feels good to be back and done with the flu in our household. Today we did ABC order with our spelling words. We also began our new Wordly Wise words and lesson nine is due this Friday. In math we began geometry with solids. Their assignment was lesson 8-1. Then for science we learned about Mars. On computers they worked in MobyMax math and took their math assessment.

January 31st- Last day of January and we did a word sort with our spelling words. They also read the story "Patches" today with questions and both of these are homework if not done. In math we are continuing some of our challenging PARCC sample fraction questions. We have been reviewing some of the more challenging questions each day. Their assignment today was Lesson 10-5, 10-9 and this is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Istation and Miss Becky was here for music at the end of the day to hand out recorders. They were super excited to play on their recorders today.

January 30th - Today they did an ABC order with their spelling words. For reading they read about Mercury and Venus and answered some literal questions over the text. These are both homework if not done. In math we continued to work on fractions and their assignment was pages 9-6 and 10-4. Then during science time we learned more about Venus and Earth. On computers they worked in Mobymax math.

January 27th - Today they did 3x each with their new spelling words and these are due on Monday. They have to do one of each of the words in cursive. From our yellow book we read "Field Day" and they have ten questions to answer over the story. Then in math we reviewed fractions and their assignment is pg. 9-1,9-5. At the end of the day we did STEM with the planets and distance from the sun. On computers they worked in Istation. Have a great weekend!

January 26th - Today we took our spelling test and I graded those and sent them home. Then we did some group work and some writing with summarizing. They have a writing assignment to write a sports article on a game that they have watched or a game that they have played in. I read a few examples to give them an idea of what a sports article sounds like. In math I did some practice with PARCC and then they had review over comparing fractions and this is homework if not done. Skill math and Wordly Wise is due tomorrow. On computers they worked in Mobymax math.

January 25th - Today we took a practice spelling test and tomorrow we will take our test for a grade. They had a crisscross to review their words for their test tomorrow. Then we began to talk about summarizing and they "My Mom's Marathon" and they have questions to answer over the fictional story. In math we played a review game on the board and their assignment was Ch. 10 Section B pg. 163, 434. Then during science we took a close look at Mercury and the satelite Messenger that has been studying Mercury for the past eleven years. We had a lot of good discussion on this. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science with MobyMax.

January 24th - Today we did our word sort with our spelling words and this is homework if not done. Their reading assignment was a short passage called "The First Tail" and they had questions to answer over the article. This is also homework if not done already. In math we worked on adding and subtracting like denominators and their assignment was Lesson 10-9 pg. 128, 161 and is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Istation and Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

January 23rd- Today we began a new Wordly Wise lesson #8 and went through the definitions and assignment. This is due Friday. For spelling they have an ABC order to complete for homework. In math we worked on mixed numbers and their assignment was Lesson 10-8 pg. 160 and this is homework if not done. In science we began planets and we did a planet scavenger hunt around the classroom.

January 20th - Today we took our spelling test and I graded those and sent them home. Then they wrote their spelling words 3x each and one in cursive and this is homework if not done. From our yellow books we read "David Bernsteins" and they have ten questions to answer over the story in complete sentences. In math we are continuing to work on fractions. Their assignment was Lesson 10-7 pg. 159, 126 and is homework if not done. Book orders are due next Friday the 27th if ordering.

January 19th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They worked on a crisscross for spelling and then we did some compare and contrast with writing. They were drawing a picture of a cold climate home and a warm climate home and then writing about the similarities and differences. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we continued to work on fractions and their assignment was Lesson 10-6 pg. 125, 158 and skill math is due tomorrow too.

January 18th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and we talked continued working on comparing and contrasting with our reading. Their reading assignment was "Welcome Home" and this and ABC order are due tomorrow. In math we did some estimating with fractions and then their assignment was Ch. 10 Section A Review pg. 157, 422 and it is due tomorrow. At the end of the day we did AIMS Web testing for January. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science in Moby Max.

January 17th - Today we did our ABC order with our spelling words and took our Wordly Wise test over lesson seven. ABC order is homework if not done. We also did some practice together with prefixes that we finished in class. Then in math we worked on equivalent fractions and their assignment was Lesson 10-3 pg. 122, 154 and is homework if not complete. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in the afternoon Miss Becky was here and they worked on learning notes for recorders. Recorder money is needed also for music.

January 13th - Today we took our spelling test and they wrote their new spelling words 3x each. For math they have Lesson 10-4 pg. 123, 155 for homework. Have a great weekend and be safe!

January 11th - Today we did our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be their test for a grade. They have a crisscross and a biography on Martin Luthur King Jr for homework if they did not already finish. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and Science. Then during math we continued to work with fractions and their assignment was Lesson 10-2 pg. 121, 153 and is homework if not done already. At the end of the day we finished the Statue of Liberty tour during social studies. Wordly Wise Lesson 7 and skill math are due Friday.

January 10th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and they answered questions over a passage on Mount Rushmore. Both of these are homework if not already done. Wordly Wise is due Friday along with skill math. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. In math we finished up an area question and then began fractions. Their assignment is Lesson 10-1 pg. 120, 152 and is homework if not done. Then Miss Becky was here for music and they had a free music day.

January 9th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and we went over new Wordly Wise words from lesson seven. ABC order is due tomorrow and Wordly Wise is due Friday. In math we finished up perimeter and area and they have an assignment to complete. Then during social studies time we continued looking at monuments and we began covering the Statue of Liberty. We will finish covering it on Wednesday. On computers they worked in Istation.

January 6th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. They also have their report cards and binders with a lot of good information. I asked them all to share this with their parents. For assignments they have their new spelling words 3x each, the story "Miss Rumphius" from their yellow books, and for math Perimeter and Area #2. January 4th - Today we did a word sort with our spelling words and we wrote a "I have a dream" speech based on what the students see as challenges in todays world. Both of these are homework if not already done. In math we worked on area of rectangles and they have an assignment over this that is homework if not already done. Then during social studies time we learned about the Washington Monument and took a virtural tour of it. On computers they worked in Moby Max Fact Fluency.

January 3rd - Today we reviewed our second quarter goals and created third quarter goals for school and for home. We also wrote our spelling words in ABC order and our test for this week will be on Friday. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then they had a chance to share what they got for Christmas after lunch. In math we worked on perimeter and their assignment was Lesson 8-8 and could be homework if not already done. Miss Becky was here at the end of the day for music.

December 20th - We took our Wordly Wise Test and I graded those and sent them home. We did some cursive practice and reindeer contractions. In the afternoon they watched and performed in the 3rd grade talent show. Tomorrow we will have stations from 8:30 to 11:00 and then our party from 11:00 to 11:30. Then lunch and recess followed by Polar Express in the gym until the 2:00 dismissal.

December 16th- Today we took our spelling test and I graded those and sent them home. We read from our yellow books "The Wreck of the Zephyr" and they have ten questions to answer over the story. Then in math they worked on area and their assignment was Victor Vacuum. Early dismissal at 2:00 for weather. Have a safe weekend!

December 15th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be there test for a grade. They have a crisscross for homework. Worldy Wise Lesson #6 is due tomorrow and so is skill math if they have not finished one for the week. They also wrote a letter to santa and this is homework if they are not done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then during math we did our test over chapter seven. I graded those and sent them home.

December 13th - Today we dd a word sort with our spelling words and they had time to work on their Wordly Wise. On computers they worked in Istation. In math we continued reviewing for our test and their assignment was cumulative review pg. 117. In the afternoon Miss Becky had the third grade practice for their music concert tonight. She wants them there at 6:00 for the 6:30 performance.

December 12th- Today we wrote our words in ABC order and then we went over new Wordly Wise words. Wordly Wise Lesson #6 packet is due Friday along their skill math. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math they had Ch. 7 Section C for their assignment. At the end of the day we continued on our Christmas ornaments.

December 9th - Today we wrote our spelling words 3x each and read "Sunken Treasure" from our yellow book. Both of these are homework if not done. In math we worked with even and odd numbers and their assignment was Lesson 7-12 pg. 90,113. On computers they worked in Istation and we built our Christmas trees today. Then we watched a short clip on the story we read about the Atocha. Have a great weekend!

December 8th - Today we took our spelling test and those were graded and sent home. We also did some PARCC practice and then did AIMS Web testing before lunch. The only homework they may have is their skill math for the week. Before we left for the day we waved and cheered on the 7th grade girls basketball team on their way to the state championship.

December 7th - Today we took our practice spelling test and tomorrow will be there test for a grade. They have a crisscross for their spelling assignment. For reading they have "The Smart Birdcage" and questions to answer over the passage. We started compare (same) and contrast (different) with this lesson. In math we did some practice with PARCC questions and then their assignment was dividing by eight and nine Lesson 7-11 pg. 112. On computers they worked in Fact Fluency and then science with Mobymax math. At the end of the day we continued the next step of our Christmas tree ornament. Reminder that we have an early out tomorrow at 1:00.

December 6th- I had cataract surgery today so Mrs. Beeler filled in for me. The students should have had a word sort, a reading assignment (White Envelope), and math Lesson 7-10 pg. 111 for assignments to complete and return. I will see everyone tomorrow.

December 5th - Today we did ABC order with our spelling words. We took our Wordly Wise test over lesson 5 and I graded those and sent them home. We also talked about the third grade talent show and the talents of our students. In math they had review over everything from Ch. 7 so far and their assignment was Ch. 7 Section B pg. 110 and this and ABC order are homework if not already done. At the end of the day we began our prep work for our homemade Christmas trees.

December 2nd- Today they wrote their new spelling words 3x each and we read from our yellow book "Song and Dance Man." Then we finished up our Christmas ornaments today. For STEM they tried to build the tallest Christmas tree possible with stacking cups. On computers they did Mobymax math assessment for December. Reminder that tonight is the father/daughter dance. For writing we did some group work over the story we read yesterday and then they had to write about the sequence of a redwood tree as it grows up to be a ten year old tree. This is homework if not done. On computers they worked in Mobymax math. Then in math we talked about fact families with division and multiplication. Their assignment was Lesson 7-4 pg. 82, 104 and this is homework if not already done. Then Miss Becky was here at the end of the day.

November 21st- Today we did ABC order with our spelling words and our test will be Thursday of this week. For reading they read "The Tallest Living Things on Earth" and they have question to answer as they read and then comprehension questions at the end of the article. This is homework if not already done. On computers they worked in Istation. Then in math we reviewed and began some PARC practice. Their assignment was Ch. 7 Section A pg. 103 and this is homework if not done. After math we did a peer edit over one of our writings and talked about staying on topic and answering a prompt. Huge learning topic today with our writing.
